A

Assists
A pass that sets up a goal. The last two players to touch the puck before the goal is scored receive assists.

A/B

Attempts blocked
Shots taken by player that were blocked.

A1

Primary Assist
The primary assist is awarded to the player who makes the final pass directly leading to the goal.

A2

Secondary Assist
The secondary assist is given to the player who made the pass to the player who then made the final pass (the primary assist) before the goal was scored.

BAT

Puck Battles
Extended Battles for the puck. Usually around the boards, usually involving more than 2 skaters.

Opponent ended up with possession of the puck.

A dump-out occurs when a defensive player clears the puck from their defensive zone by shooting or chipping it out past the blue line, typically aiming to relieve pressure from the attacking team.

Odd Man Rushes

Odd man rushes.
An odd man rush occurs when the attacking team outnumbers the defending players as they move into the offensive zone (2-on-1, 3-on-1. 2-on-0, etc.)

Offensive Puck Recovery

Puck Recovery after own team was in possession.
This only counts puck recoveries that occur after the player’s own team was in possession, for example a recovery after a shot or a recovery after a dump in.

Penalty shots.
A penalty shot is a special situation in hockey where the player takes a direct, unopposed shot on the opposing team’s goaltender from center ice, with the goal being to score.

Primary xG Assists.
Primary xG assists are credited to the player who makes the pass that directly leads to a shot, summing up the expected goals (xG) of the shots assisted. It reflects the value of the pass in adding in the probability of the shot being set up resulting in a goal.

REB

Rebound Shots.
Rebound shots are shot attempts taken by a player after the goaltender makes an initial save on another shot (possibly but not necessarily by the same player) with the puck staying in play after the save, being immediately recovered by the player who then takes a rebound shot.

Rush S

Rush Shots Attempts.
Rush shot attempts are shots taken by a player during a fast break or transition play as the team moves quickly from their own zone into the offensive zone. These attempts occur during fast-paced, unstructured play rather than set plays or structured offensive zones.

Rush SA

Rush Shot Assists.
Rush shot assists are credited to the player who makes a pass that directly leads to a shot attempt during a fast break or transition play. These assists occur as the team moves quickly from their own zone into the offensive zone.

Rush xG

Rush XG Contribution.
Rush xG contribution measures a player’s involvement in generating expected goals (xG) during fast break or transition plays. It includes both the quality of shots they take and assists they provide during these rapid offensive situations.

Zone exits
Zone exits are plays where a team successfully moves the puck out of their defensive zone and into the neutral zone. This involves carrying, passing or dumping the puck past the blue line to clear the defensive zone.

xG

Expected goals
Expected Goals (xG) is a metric used to quantify the quality of scoring chances by estimating the probability of a shot resulting in a goal. It considers factors like shot location, type, and the game situation (strength state) to assess how likely a goal is from a given shot.

xG contribution combines a player’s direct involvement in scoring by considering both their own expected goals (xG) from shots and their assists that lead to shots, providing a measure of their overall impact on goal-scoring opportunities.
